Urquhart Castle

Urquhart Castle is one of the most iconic landmarks in the whole Scotland. It is located right to the Loch Ness lake at the Scotland Highlands near the town Inverness and village Drumnadrochit. This town has a history of over 1000 years and even though it is in ruins it is still an impressive attraction.
In 13th century Urquhart Castle served as a medieval fortress and lots of invasions and battles were held there. You can learn all the history of this castle trough visual and audio presentation inside the castle.  If you climb to the top of the tower you will see a beautiful scenery over the lake and experience a great view of all the ruins of the castle. You will also enjoy visiting the prison cells of the castle and drinking the coffee at the café while enjoying a great view over the hills and the lake. At your journey through the visitor center and the castle you will be able to see artefacts, some replicas and you will be able to look at the short movie that will explain everything about the castle to you. Also, you probably heard about the stories about the Loch Ness monster so if you visit this castle and look carefully who knows, maybe you get the experience to view the monster with you own eyes.
